Emergencies rarely fit into our normal daily schedules. When you have a dental emergency, all you can think about is taking care of the problem. At Thompson Dental, we make every effort to provide treatment as soon as possible.
We can often treat dental emergencies the day a patient calls our office. If you have already been seen in our office, we can even schedule an after-hours appointment for more severe emergencies. We want you to be pain-free and return you to your regular routine.
Do I have a Dental Emergency?
A dental emergency can occur for a number of reasons. Call us right away if you experience any of the following:
- A tooth that has been knocked loose.
- A broken or cracked tooth.
- An injury that causes your mouth to bleed.
- An abscess, especially with intense tooth pain.
- A filling that has fallen out or a loose dental crown.
Please note that if you have a broken jaw, bleeding that won’t stop, or any other serious injury, you should go to the emergency room as soon as possible.
Can I Wait for Treatment?
In most cases, we encourage our patients to be safe rather than sorry. If you are in pain, you should call, so we can schedule an appointment to help you out. If you wait for treatment, complications can develop that can cause even more serious problems in the future.
